This auction is for a painted greeting card from condemned California murderer Alphonso Howard. On 10/20/1992, Alphonso Howard would be sentenced to death for the rape and murder of a young girl in Compton. The girl went missing on 4/2/1988. Her body was discovered three days later. After a series of police interviews Alphonso Howard was linked to the crime, arrested, and subsequently convicted.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The painting makes a greeting card, measuring 6"×9" when closed, and is signed, "Alphonso H." On the reverse Howard has written, "'Brown Sympathy Cards' By: Alphonso H. © 2012 #26 Purple." The card comes inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and has been stored flat.
