This auction is for letter from Virginia child rapist and suspected serial killer Bobby Joe Leonard. On 8/17/1999, Bobby Leonard was arrested for the kidnapping, rape, and attempted murder of a 13-year-old girl. On 9/9/1999, he attempted to escape police custody. He would later say during his trial that his attempted escape was due to being "homesick." He would be convicted on all charges. Being Bobby Leonard was already convicted of one violent sexual assault he received a mandatory life sentence. He is believed to have committed at least two murders, possibly more, though never formally charged.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is two pages on one sheet, dated 4/26/2006, and signed, "Bobby." The original mailing envelope is postmarked 4/27/2006.
