Description
The photograph measures 8.3x11". There's small, slight creases at the very top, and around the edges, creases are only in the plain white areas, they don't affect the image. There's light yellowing on the back of the print due to age. Pen mark underlining "Charles Manson". This image is usually cropped, this is the full-frame version. This scan has a slightly higher contrast than the actual print.
The photograph was taken when Bruce Davis turned himself in. Bruce is pictured with Cappy, addressing the press. Paul Fitzgerald is in the background. In part, the caption states, "freshly carved, bloody "X" on his forehead, talks to newsmen on a Los Angeles street corner Wednesday just before he surrendered on murder charges.". After the caption, "(See AP AAA Wire Story by Linda Deutsch)" Linda Deutsch passed away in September 2024.
