Cynthia Hendy letter/envelope 2/3/2007 PAROLED (signed by VICTIM)

This auction is for a letter with photo from Toy Box Killer accomplice Cynthia Hendy. Although no bodies were ever discovered, it is believed that David Parker Ray used his sound-proofed torture chamber, he referred to as the Satan's Den, to murder as many as 60 women. Law enforcement dubbed the truck trailer the Toy Box. Cynthia Hendy was his girlfriend and accomplice. David Parker Ray would torture his victims with homemade implements, forcing penetration with various objects, making his victims to perform acts of bestiality, and the like. On 3/22/1999, while supervising one of their "sex slaves," Cynthia Vigil, Hendy managed to lose sight of the keys and Vigil was able to escape after stabbing Hendy in the head with an ice pick, breaking the case. David Parker Ray was sentenced to 225 years for a handful of crimes while Cynthia Hendy received a sentence of 36 years in exchange for her agreed testimony. And while the case did not receive a lot of media attention, largely due to David Parker Ray's death 5/28/2002, and the lack of evidence, it's one of America's most interesting cases of extreme sexual sadism. After serving half of her sentence Cindy Hendy was released from prison without parole on 7/15/2019.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is two pages on one sheet, dated 2/3/2007, and signed, "Cindy." The original mailing envelope, which is postmarked 2/5/2007, has also been signed by Cynthia Vigil. A photograph of Vigil signing these items will be provided via email. The letter and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat.
