Letter/envelope set from the condemned Florida Hog Trail Killer.
This auction is for a letter from condemned Florida "Hog Trail Killer" Daniel Owen Conahan, Jr. Between 1994 and 1996, Daniel Conahan would lure men out to secluded areas in Charlotte County. Once alone, he would tie them up in mock bondage play, then rape and murder them. After one victim escaped and the bodies started piling up, Daniel Conahan became a suspect. He would be arrested on 7/3/1996, after being under police surveillance for 50 days. To make matters worse for Daniel Conahan he opted for a bench trial, or trial by judge, believing being a gay man he most certainly couldn't get a fair shake in the homophobic State of Florida. The judge found him guilty. Daniel Conahan was sentenced to death on 12/10/1999.
