Original visitation photograph of the deceased California Sunset Stripe Slayer.
This auction is for an original visitation photo of deceased California "Sunset Strip Slayer" Douglas Daniel Clark (3/10/1948 - 10/12/2023). In 1980, Douglas Clark, with accomplice Carol Bundy, went on a sadistic murder spree targeting mostly young girls for rape and murder. The case has elements of necrophilia. The pair are credited with killing at least seven victims. Carol Bundy ended up being the weak link and started a dialogue with law enforcement that resulted in their arrest. Douglas Clark claimed he was innocent, with little to no knowledge of the of the crimes seemingly to be happening all around him. Carol Bundy struck a deal with prosecutors in order to escape the death penalty, which Douglas Clark received in 1983 with her testimony. Douglas Clark continued to maintain his innocence and was very active in his appeal. Carol Bundy died of natural causes while serving life in prison in 2003. Douglas Clark died while awaiting execution of natural causes on 10/12/2023. He was 76.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The visiting photo was taken in San Quentin's condemned visitation, likely in 2013. This is the actual photo that is printed there while you are visiting, not a copy of said photo. There are tabs on the sides of the photo which enables the printer to work. Once the photo is printed, you can remove those tabs, leaving a 4"×6" photo. The tabs are still in tact. The photograph comes inside a protective comic book sleeve with an acid free board and has been stored flat. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
