Letter/envelope set from the executed Ohio serial killer.
This auction is for a letter from executed Ohio serial killer Frances Anne Spisak, legally Frank Spisak Jr. (6/6/1951 - 2/17/2011). In 1972, Frank Spisak went on a racially motivated killing spree in Cleveland in hopes of starting a race war. During his 1983 trial Frank Spisak shaved himself a Hitler-styled mustache and carried around a copy of Mien Kampf. Needless to say, the race war plan failed and Frank Spisak was sentenced to death. During his 27-year incarceration Frank Spisak lobbied to have sexual reassignment surgery and demanding prison officials address him as a woman, none of which ever came to be. He did successfully, and rather temporarily, have his death sentence overturned. Frank Spisak was executed by lethal injection on 2/17/2011. He was 59.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive in six pages on three legal-size stationery sheets, dated 7/9/2002, and signed, "Frances." You can clearly see Spisak's delusional mindset in the letter. Personally, I don't believe Spisak was transgender. The original mailing envelope is postmarked 7/10/2002. The letter and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
