This auction is for an original family photo of deceased counterculture figurer and artist GG Allin (8/29/1956 - 6/26/1993). Born Jesus Christ Allin (later changed to Kevin Michael Allin), it was almost ordained that GG Allin would do great things. His controversial punk rock music, coupled with an extreme stage performance, earned him a reputation which was a head of its time. Arrested and imprisoned on multiple occasions, GG Allin also took to writing to inmates, most notably John Wayne Gacy, who's artwork would be featured on album covers. GG Allin died of a drug overdose on 6/28/1993. He was 36.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The photograph is original, measuring 3.5"×3.5", dated September 1961, and captures the image of young GG and, brother, Merle Allin. This photo was purchased directly from Merle. The photo comes with a Xerox copy of the LOA sent by Merle Allin to the original buyer. The photo comes in a protective comic book sleave and has been stored flat.
