Gregory Allen Williamson, sometimes known as "Vlad Vald," was involved in serious criminal acts relating to child sexual exploitation. He was found guilty on several offenses, including enticing a juvenile to engage in sexual behavior, producing child sexual abuse material, distributing child sexual abuse material, and possessing child sexual abuse material. Williamson sent anonymous and sexually explicit emails to a vulnerable 12-year-old victim from Eastern Europe using the identity "Vlad Vald." He also gave the victim smartphone chargers equipped with concealed cameras, which were used to secretly film sexually graphic photographs while the victim was naked. The FBI, in collaboration with the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, conducted the investigation and trial. Williamson was indicted on November 3, 2021 and sentenced to life in federal prison. This case falls within Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide campaign started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Williamson, also known as "Vlad Vald," was recently
convicted for multiple serious offenses related to child sexual abuse
material. The 58-year-old man from North Port, Florida, was found
guilty of enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity, three counts
of production of child sexual abuse material, three counts of
distribution of child sexual abuse material, and possession of child
sexual abuse material.
The case revealed that Williamson
isolated and groomed a 12-year-old victim, a recent immigrant from
Eastern Europe, using hidden cameras disguised as cell phone chargers
to capture sexually explicit images of the victim. The victim
testified about the grooming and isolation tactics Williamson used to
exploit her. Digital evidence was found on Williamson's devices,
which were crucial in securing his conviction on multiple counts,
including enticement of a minor, production, distribution, and
possession of child sexual abuse material.
The charges
against Williamson included enticing a minor, producing child sexual
abuse material, distributing child sexual abuse material, and
possessing child sexual abuse material. The case was part of Project
Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice
aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The charges
were supported by substantial evidence, including digital files,
hidden cameras used for recording, and explicit emails sent to the
victim.
