Andrew Compton, 18, was picked up by O'Bryan from Sullivan University in October 2010. The Carmel, IN teen had just begun his freshman year at Sullivan. O'Bryan told police he gave Compton alcohol before they had consensual sex, during which Compton died. O'Bryan also claimed to have had sex with Compton's body after the teen died, and that he later disposed of the body in a trash bin at Our Lady of Peace psychiatric hospital on Newburg Road. The contents of the trash bin were traced to a landfill in Medora by police. Compton's body was never found.
Gregory O'Bryan was found guilty of murder, sodomy, tampering with physical evidence, and sexual abuse of a corpse on 10/29/2010 and sentenced to 40 years in prison. He would be eligible for parole in 17 years (10/26/2033).
