Christmas card from the deceased California Machete Murderer.
This auction is for a Christmas card from deceased California "Machete Murderer" Juan Vallejo Corona (2/7/1934 - 3/4/2019). In 1971, Juan Corona murdered a series of migrant farm workers near Yuba City. After a farmer noticed a freshly dug hole in his orchard, only to find it filled the following day, the police were called in to instigate. After unearthing several bodies and finding circumstantial evidence that connected Juan Corona to each he was arrested. 25 victims would be unearthed in surrounding peach orchards. Juan Corona maintained his innocence but would ultimately be convicted on 1/18/1973 of all 25 murder counts. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. The case marked the record for most murder convictions at the time. Authorities believed the body count to be higher. Some speculated Juan Corona was innocent and that the murders were committed by his gay, half-brother, Natividad Corona. Regardless, Juan Corona died on 3/4/2019 of natural causes. He was 77.
