Lawrence Bittaker Letter & Envelope September 2009 (Not signed)
Letter is dated September 11, 2009 and Envelope is postmarked September 14, 2009. From what I have read about Lawrence Bittaker it has been stated he had an IQ level in the neighborhood of genius level, had his sidekick adhered to the well known practice of “don’t snitch” the world may have known of a very different Lawrence Bittaker, or maybe not at all. For whatever reasons, and I’m sure there are more than one, you’ll find no specimen of handwriting that could potentially be that of Bittaker’s on the material in this auction. Every single word used and included, on both letter and envelope, is typed. Cautious and clever, as well as considerate and courteous, this was the first and last piece of correspondence received from Bittaker, as in this letter he declines the offer of yet another fangirlin’ penpal and only even replies here because of the fact that this writer included some postage stamps in the initial letter in order for him to do so. Though brief in length, there are several notable mentions contained in the letter, namely his familiarity with fellow San Quentin inmate at that time Richard Ramirez, as well as his familiarity with and exposure to ‘Killer Fiction’ the published writings of deceased writer/convicted murderer, Florida’s Gerard J Schaefer.
But what of that envelope, fangirls??? Could it be possible that Mr. Bittaker may have licked and sealed this envelope and/or stamp himself, possibly providing a sample of his very own DNA??? Ditto for many of the other auctions on here in regards to the stamps and envelopes. Shudder the thought peace loving citizens of the world, shudder the thought that such material fall into the hands of a DNA mad scientist with even madder skills!!! Stranger things have happened….
