With a shotgun and automatic rifle he had stolen from his stepfather the day before, Lionell Gonzales Rodriguez (hereinafter referred to as “Lionell”; February 1, 1971 – June 20, 2007) | age 36) joined his cousin, James Gonzales, in driving around town looking for a place to rob. At a stop light at an intersection in Houston, Lionell (who was in the passenger’s seat) noticed a young woman sitting alone at the wheel of a car next to them. Lionell aimed an M1 carbine rifle right through the unopened window at the woman and fired one time, striking her in the temple.
Lionell jumped out of the car, ran over the woman, dumped her body on the street, and drove away in her car, with Gonzalez following. Tracy Gee, a 22-year-old woman, had been working a double shift that night, covering for her pregnant sister. Four hours later, Lionell was arrested in Gee's car in Fort Bend County. Tracy's blood was soaked into the interior of the car and Lionell's pants, and her bone, blood, and brain matter was clotted throughout his hair. He admitted to murdering Gee.

Convicted in the September 1990 robbery and murder of Tracy A. Gee, 22, in Houston. Tracy had worked late that night as an assistant manager at the Houston City Club. She had to work double shifts to cover for her pregnant sister, the club's manager. Gee was forced to work later than usual due to computer problems. She was later discovered face down in a pool of blood.
Lionell and his cousin, James Gonzales, pulled up next to Gee's car at a red light at the intersection of N. Braeswood and Rice Blvd. Lionell abruptly declared his intention to rob Gee, leveled an M1 rifle across the gap through Gee's vehicle's driver's side closed window, and fired once, striking Gee in the temple. Lionell pushed Gee's body onto the pavement, took the victim's car, and drove away, with Gonzales following.
Gonzales was later pulled over for driving without taillights and told cops that Lionell murdered the young woman. Lionell was arrested in Fort Bend County four hours later while driving Gee's car. His pants were bloodied, and he had brain matter in his hair. He made a complete confession.

all. This should have never happened." He thanked his relatives
adding, "We'll see each other again." He muttered a brief
prayer, mouthed them a kiss and closed his eyes as the lethal drugs
began to take effect.
