Vinyl LP pressing of Macabre's classic work 'Sinister Slaughter'
This trio from Illinois should be bigger than they are, I think, but being underground legends ain't nothing to scoff at either. Repeating myself, these guys are legendary, no one does it like them. What do they do and how do they do it? Great questions. Well they do Murder Metal. As a matter of fact they created the genre over thirty years ago and all the way up until now have blistered and blazed their path all over the world playing their own unique brand of metal to the masses. If you've heard a song about a serial killer or mass murderer there's a damn good chance it came from these rascals right here, MACABRE. By the time this now classic album was released in 1992/93 most everyone in the know were familiar with this trio because they had already had a foothold in the International Heavy Metal scene with the release of at least two full length albums by then 'Grim Reality' and 'Gloom'. Personally this was my introduction to the band as an impressionable teenybopper, and nearly wore out my first copy of this recording on cassette. But y'know you might agree with me when I write that many times and ways vinyl is better than cassette and superior to it, this being one of those times and ways. Namely cause we get a better look at everyone on the album cover, which is a parody of The Beatles 'Sgt. Pepper....' and in place of the people on the Beatles album is....guess..... correct, everybody's a serial killer on the cover, except for the band who are centered at the very front of this shady collection of characters and killers. A groundbreaker, I'd say their finest most definitive recording of them all. In pristine condition, this piece is basically brand new without the plastic wrapping. So in place of the garbage it's been slipped into one of those plastic record preserver sleeves that most well kept and worthy vinyl recordings are kept in.
