Letter/envelope from the executed Texas cop killer.
This auction is for a letter from executed Texas cop killer Manuel Fernando Garza, Jr. (8/8/1980 - 4/15/2015). On 2/2/2001, Manuel Garza shot and killed a police officer who has attempting to arrest him. The officer was a member of the Texas elite SWAT team. After a struggle, Manuel Garza took the officer's weapon and shot him in the head. After he was arrested, Manuel Garza stated, "I want to say to the media and to the officer's family and everybody out there that this wasn't intentional and I truly think this was the cop's fault. I don't see why he wanted to pull out his gun. I want to say to the judge and the jury to please do justice and please have mercy on me and give me the benefit of the doubt. I don't think I should get death or life in prison. I think I deserve something under that. I need a lot of help about how to do life. I wasn't raised right." A jury didn't agree, recommending the 20-year-old habitual offender pay his debt to society with his life. Manuel Garza was executed on 4/15/2015. He was 35. It took the lethal injection of pentobarbital 26 minutes to end his life.
