Testified in the trial of Dr. crippen - resulted in death by hanging
Lillian "Lil" Hawthorne (1877-1926)performed first in the US, in a trio with her sisters, Lola and Nellie. She became a star of British stages and music halls in the first decade of the twentieth century, starring in the title role of Aladdin in a West End show. Hawthorne was a close friend of fellow performer Belle Elmore, and testified at the London murder trial of Elmore's husband, the notorious Dr. Crippen.
