Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard (1967–2015), was found face down in the bedroom of her home outside of Springfield on June 14, 2015, by sheriff's deputies in Greene County, Missouri, in the United States. She was stabbed several days earlier, leaving a pool of blood on the bed. Gypsy Rose, who Blanchard claimed had a history of chronic illnesses like leukemia, asthma, and muscular dystrophy and who, as a result of her preterm birth, had brain damage, had the "mental capacity of a 7-year-old," was nowhere to be found.1
Nicholas Godejohn (b. 1989) met Gypsy Rose Blanchard (b. 1991) on a Christian dating site. Soon after their first few meetings in person, she asked him to murder her overbearing mother – which he did.
According to Godejohn, he and Gypsy had sex in Gypsy’s bedroom after the crime. Godejohn had asked Gypsy to clean up the blood from a wound on his finger while naked – a sexual fantasy of his – that resulted in the two having sex just minutes after her mother was brutally murdered.
Gypsy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2016 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. She is now 31 years old. GYPSY R BLANCHARDE is imprisoned at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. Her sentence will come to an end in 2026, and she will be eligible for parole in 2024.

Nicholas Godejohn pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder but received a life sentence without the possibility of parole after being found guilty. He is housed at Potosi Correctional Center, Missouri.
Dee Dee began pretending that Gypsy had different illnesses when she was a baby. Dee Dee appeared to be a charming, devoted mother, so people believed her. Even when Gypsy was a teenager, Dee Dee still claimed she was sick and began to lie about Gypsy's age. Gypsy convinced a man she met online to kill Dee Dee. Gypsy was 'afraid' and believed she 'didn't have anyone to trust'. Gypsy is 'not happy' that Dee Dee is dead.
