Description

This auction is for a letter from condemned California serial killer Steven David Catlin. Between 1976 and 1984, four of Catlin's wives and family members died rather suddenly, most of which were quickly cremated at Steven Catlin's requests. After suspicion was raised medical tests found traces of poison in several tissue samples retained by the hospital. Steven Catlin would be charged on 12/23/1995 of murder and convicted of three murders in two counties. He would ultimately be sentenced to death on 6/6/1990.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is one page, dated 8/28/2005, and signed, "Steve." He has added his full address at the bottom of the page. The original mailing envelope has a red SAN QUENTIN STATE PRISON stamp. The letter and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat.
