Letter/envelope set from the Los Angeles Jewish Community Center shooter.
This auction is for a letter from Los Angeles Jewish Community Center shooter Buford O'Neal Furrow, Jr. On 8/10/1999, Buford Furrow fired 70 rounds with a machine gun into the North Valley Jewish Community Center in Los Angele County, hitting five individuals, including several children. He then killed a postal employee delivering mail, based on his non-white appearance and being a federal employee. He was motivated by racial and religious bigotry. Buford Furrow would flee to Nevada, only to turn himself in to the FBI. He confessed to his crimes. When prosecutors elected to seek the death penalty at trial, Buford Furrow agreed to plead guilty to a host of federal charges in exchange for life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
