8.5"×11" unique art piece by the condemned California serial killer.
This auction is for a drawing by condemned California serial killer Steven David Catlin. Between 1976 and 1984, four of Catlin's wives and family members died rather suddenly, most of which were quickly cremated at Steven Catlin's requests. After suspicion was raised medical tests found traces of poison in several tissue samples retained by the hospital. Steven Catlin would be charged on 12/23/1995 of murder and convicted of three murders in two counties. He would ultimately be sentenced to death on 6/6/1990.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The artwork is on a black sheet of heavy card stock type paper in what appears to be metallic ink, the car headlights are small reflective "mirrors," the piece is affixed to another piece of heavy card stock making a sort of matte, measures 8.5"×11", and signed, "St." The piece is signed and dated on the reverse, "S. Catlin, 8/30/2009," with Catlin's prison number and housing assignment. Catlin as taped a protective cover sheet, which covers the artwork when pulled over.
