April Lawrence and James Wilson from Anderson County, South Carolina, are accused of trafficking their 14-year-old daughter to a man in Greenville County. The couple allegedly found people who would pay them and used the teen as a form of currency. They reportedly took the child over county lines to a 67-year-old man in Greenville County. The teen told investigators that she did not want to go there anymore, but Wilson would continue taking her. The sheriff’s office said the couple was given $20 every time she was taken there. Deputies executed a search warrant on the couple’s Cash App and found that they made $1,300 to $1,400 in a month. Both Wilson and Lawrence were charged with human trafficking and are being held in the Anderson County Detention Center without bond. Another man, William Barendsen, took the couple up on their offer and was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
