This auction is for a letter from executed Florida serial killer Aileen Carol Wuornos (2/29/1956 – 10/9/2002). Aileen Wuornos was a female serial killer who killed seven men from 1989 to 1990. She claimed during several trials that the killings were in self-defense, that her victims were would-be attackers and she the victim. Unfortunately for Aileen Wuornos, none of the members of any of her juries believed that story and she was sentenced to death on multiple counts. Her case was largely celebrated in the press and continues to be the focus of media coverage. Aileen Wuornos was executed 10/9/2002. Her last words were, "Yes, I would just like to say I'm sailing with the rock, and I'll be back, like Independence Day with Jesus. June 6, like the movie. Big mother ship and all, I'll be back, I'll be back." She was 46.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is four pages on four sheets, dated 6/3/1993, and is signed, "Aili, Lee." Wuornos has signed her name, "Aileen Wuornos," and address at the top of the first page. She has also drawn a handsome little sailboat scene. In the letter Wuornos goes into religion extensively, but she also mentions incoming mail and upcoming trials. "So for sure death to the chair."
