resulting in the death of a 3-month-old infant named Josiah Noel
Seright. The infant's mother, September De'Asia Seright, 19, and two
others, Diane Lamish Seright, 42, and Antonio Bennie Nash, 39, were
arrested and charged with second-degree murder and second-degree
child cruelty. The infant was found wrapped in a damp blanket, seated
in a car seat near an air conditioning unit set to 61 degrees
Fahrenheit. The three adults stayed in the room, relaxing on a couch
and a bed. The infant was found unconscious and taken to Wellstar MCG
Health, where he was declared dead at 2:37 am. The cause of death was
identified as hypothermia and respiratory failure.
The
three suspects faced charges of second-degree murder, reflecting
reckless behavior showing a blatant disregard for human life, and
second-degree cruelty to children, involving causing significant harm
