Volusia County Branch Jail letter from executed female serial killer.
This auction is for a county jail letter from executed Florida serial killer Aileen Carol Wuornos (2/29/1956 – 10/9/2002). Aileen Wuornos was a female serial killer who killed seven men from 1989 to 1990. She claimed during several trials that the killings were in self-defense, that her victims were would-be attackers and she the victim. Unfortunately for Wuornos, none of the members of any of her juries believed that story and she was sentenced to death on multiple counts. Her case was largely celebrated in the press and continues to be the focus of media coverage. Aileen Wuornos was executed 10/9/2002. When asked if she had any last words she stated, "Yes, I would just like to say I'm sailing with the rock, and I'll be back, like Independence Day with Jesus. June 6, like the movie. Big mother ship and all, I'll be back, I'll be back." She was 46.
