This auction is for a letter from the deceased father Washington serial killer Robert Lee Yates, Jr., Robert Lee Yates, Sr. (9/1/1941 - 4/21/2020). Between 1996 and 1998, Robert Yates, Jr. killed at least 13 women. He is suspected in additional homicides, dating back to 1975. Robert Yates would be arrested on 4/18/2000. In 2001, he would ultimately plead guilty to 13 murders in order to escape the death penalty. In 2001, he was convicted of two additional murders and sentenced to death. That death sentence would be commuted to life without parole after Washington State abolished the death penalty. Robert Yates, Sr. passed away 4/21/2020. He was 79.
