Letter/envelope set from the California Freeway Killer and William Bonin accomplice.
This auction is for a letter and photograph from one of California's "Freeway Killers" James Munro. Between 1979 to 1980, William Bonin, with accomplices Gregory Miley, James Munro, Vernon Butts, and William Pugh, abducted, raped, and murder 21 young men and boys. 12 of those murders were with the assistance of his accomplices. William Bonin was a convicted sexual predator and eventually found himself on police radar, who arrested him in the act of raping a 17-year-old victim in his van on 6/11/1980. Vernon Butts killed himself awaiting trial. Gregory Miley received a 25 year to life sentence. James Munro received a 15 year to life sentence. William Pugh served five years in state prison and was paroled. William Bonin was executed on 2/23/1996. Gregory Miley was attacked on the prison yard 5/23/2016 and died as a result of his injuries on 5/25/2016. James Munro is still serving out his life sentence, recently being given a 15 year parole denial after it was discovered he planned to continue "Bonin's work" if he were to be released.
