Letter/envelope set from the deceased Ohio Angel of Death serial killer.
This auction is for a letter from deceased Ohio Angel of Death serial killer, Donald Harvey (4/15/1952 - 3/30/2017). Between 1970 and 1987, Donald Harvey would murder multiple patients at the various hospitals he worked, claiming to be preforming mercy killings. He would often poison or smoother his victims. After his arrest on 4/6/1987, the full scope of his crimes started to come to light. Donald Harvey quickly began confessing to committing a series of murders spanning the 17-year period once the death penalty was taken off the table. Despite confessing to 87 murders, prosecutors settled on 24. Donald Harvey would plead guilty to the 24 counts and received multiple life sentences. On 3/28/2017, Donald Harvey was found severely beaten in his cell. He died two days later on 3/30/2017. He was 64.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is two pages on two sheets, dated 12/1/2004, and signed, "Donald." The first sheet is like a holiday card, with a greeting and signature, also dated. In the letter Harvey mentions the California Hillside Strangers, Ken Bianchi and Angelo Buono. He also discusses his own case. The original mailing envelope is postmarked 12/1/2004.
