Letter/envelope set from the executed Texas murderer.
This auction is for a letter from executed Texas murderer Travis Trevino Runnels (12/17/1972 - 12/11/2019). On 1/29/2003, while serving a 70-year sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Travis Runnels stabbed a prison supervisor to death. The murder took place in the prison shoe factory, a work detail Travis Runnels was trying to get changed to the prison's barbershop. Travis Runnels would be convicted of the murder and sentenced to death. He gave no final statement prior to execution of sentence but left out a few "woofs" was the lethal drugs were being administered. Travis Runnels would be pronounced dead 22 minutes later. He was 46.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is two pages on two sheets, dated 4/28/2010, and is signed, "Travis Runnels." The original mailing envelope is postmarked 4/30/2010.
