Letter/envelope set from the Mississippi/Florida serial killer.
This auction is for a letter from deceased serial killer Donald Leroy Evans (7/5/1957 - 1/5/1999). On 8/1/1991, Donald Evans abducted a 10-year-old girl in Mississippi, taking her to Louisiana where is raped and murdered her, then dumping her body back in Mississippi. He would be arrested on 8/5/1991. Evans managed to escape from custody in 1993 but would be recaptured shortly thereafter. He would be convicted on 8/16/1993 of the sexual assault and strangulation murder and sentenced to death. Donald Evans had a previous rape conviction under his belt from 1986. After his conviction he confessed to a series of murders, spanning multiple state, with dozens of victims. Florida authorities believed there was enough evidence to charge his with one additional murder. A factual murder count from Donald Evans will likely never be known. He was stabbed to death by a death row inmate while awaiting execution in Mississippi. He was 41.
