Letter/envelope set from the New Jersey serial killer.
This auction is for a letter from New Jersey serial killer James Jerold Koedatich. Between 1971 and 1983, James Koedatich murdered at least three people. On 6/13/1971, he murdered his roommate in Dade County, Florida. After serving 11 years he would parole. James Koedatich wasted no time and got back into the swing of things, raping and murdering at least two women in New Jersey. He would be arrested after drawing attention to himself by calling police, stating he had been attacked by an unknown assailant. James Koedatich would be convicted in two separate trials was senteced death. In 1990, his sentence would be overturned and he was resentenced to life imprisonment.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is four pages on two sheets, dated 3/17/2006, and is signed, "James." In the letter Koedatich mentions cutting another inmate's throat and serving two years in administrative segregation. The original mailing envelope is postmarked 3/17/2006.
