This auction is for a legal communiqué from deceased England "Muswell Hill Murderer" Dennis Andrew Nilsen (11/23/1945 - 5/12/2018). Between 1978 and 1983, Dennis Nilsen murdered at least 12 young men and boys. He would lure his victims to his home and strangle or strangle and then drown them. Afterwards he would play dress-up with the corpses, keeping them for weeks at a time. The case had necrophilia overtones. Ultimately, he would dismember and dissect the bodies, either burning their remains or flushing them down the toilet, the later leading to his arrest, on 2/9/1983. Initially Dennis Nilsen confessed to murdering 15 victims. He would be convicted of six murders and two attempted murders and sentenced to life imprisonment on 11/4/1983. Dennis Nilsen died of natural caused on 5/12/2018. He was 72.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The legal communiqué is four pages on one folded sheet of roughly 8.25"×11.75" stationery, dated 8/13/1983, and is signed, "Dennis." That could be just a real sloppy, "Dennis Nilsen," too. Nilsen was written his name at the top of the first page, "D.A. Nilsen."
