This auction is for a postcard from deceased civil rights leader assassin Byron De La Beckwith (11/9/1932 - 1/21/2001). On 6/12/1963, Byron Beckwith shot civil rights leader Medgar Evers in the back as he returned to his Jackson, Mississippi home. Naturally two 1964 trials ended in hung juries, but in 1994, he was tried again and convicted. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. Byron Beckwith died of natural causes on 1/21/2001. He was 80.
