Letter/envelope set from the Pennsylvania two-time cop killer Hansel von Hamm.
This auction is for a letter from Pennsylvania convicted double murderer Ancell Eugene Hamm. On 11/15/1972, Ancell Hamm shot and killed two police officers outside the Kennett Square police station in Chester County. The murders were believed to be motivated by revenge. On 9/21/1972, one of the officers beat Ancell Hamm after pulling him over. Of course, Ancell Hamm was charged with assault, resisting, all the standard police beating charges. Ancell Hamm would be arrested on 11/21/1972 and charged. Due to the high profile nature of the case a change of venue was granted. The trial was held in Dauphin County, 1974. Ancell Hamm would be convicted and sentenced to two terms of life imprisonment.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive two pages on two sheets, dated 6/7/2006, and is signed, "Hansel von Hamm." I'm not sure why Hamm signs Hansel instead of Ancell? The original mailing envelope is postmarked 6/8/2006. The letter and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
