Signed 602 Appeal Form one of the California Toolbox Killers where he snitches on fellow inmates.
This auction is for a C.D.C. 602 Appeal Form from deceased California serial killer Lawrence Sigmund Bittaker (9/27/1940 - 12/13/2019). Lawrence Bittaker, also known as Pliers, with accomplice Roy Lewis Norris, committed a series of abductions, rapes, and torture murders between 6/24/1979 and 0/31/1979, killing five teenage girls. The moniker of the Toolbox Killers came due to the vast majority of the items used to torture and murder their victims being pulled from a toolbox, kept in the van the two used to commit their crimes. The duo would be apprehended separately on 11/20/1979. In the plea arrangement, Roy Norris agreed testify against Lawrence Bittaker in order to escape the death penalty. Roy Norris would receive 45 years to life in that deal made with prosecutors. During the trial of Lawrence Bittaker, a homemade tape recording the two made of a woman being brutalized and raped was played for the jury. The victim would be identified as the fifth and final victim of both Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris. The jury found Lawrence Bittaker guilty of all five murders, five counts of kidnapping, conspiracy to commit murder, and multiple counts of rape, forcible oral copulation, and forcible sodomy. He was sentenced to death on 3/24/1981. Lawrence Bittaker died of natural causes on 12/19/2019. He was 79. Roy Norris died of natural causes on 2/24/2020. He was 72.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The C.D.C. 602 Inmate/Parolee Appeal Form is filled out by Bittaker, dated 9/12/1991, and is signed, "L. Bittaker." In this go-around Bittaker snitches on the inmates above him on the tier for talking loudly after midnight. Paperwork like this can get you killed in the California state prison system if it's seen by other inmates. Bittaker, already being a pedophile rapist and killer, with no honor, probably wasn't too worried about his reputation even if it did get out. Bittaker was well known for his diligent, and sometimes frivolous, appeals. This one didn't go too far. The appeal form comes inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and has been stored flat. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
