Early letter from the executed female serial killer with drawing.
This auction is for a letter from executed Florida serial killer Aileen Carol Wuornos (2/29/1956 – 10/9/2002). Aileen Wuornos was a female serial killer who killed seven men from 1989 to 1990. She claimed during several trials that the killings were in self-defense, that her victims were would-be attackers and she the victim. Unfortunately for Wuornos, none of the members of any of her juries believed that story and she was sentenced to death on multiple counts. Her case was largely celebrated in the press and continues to be the focus of media coverage. Aileen Wuornos was executed 10/9/2002. When asked if she had any last words she stated, "Yes, I would just like to say I'm sailing with the rock, and I'll be back, like Independence Day with Jesus. June 6, like the movie. Big mother ship and all, I'll be back, I'll be back." She was 46.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is three pages on three sheets, dated 10/4/1993, and is signed, "Aileen." Wuornos has drawn a picture of a news reporter she isn't pleased with on the first page. The letter comes inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and has been stored flat. Believe me, I've looked high and low for the envelope that this letter was sent in. Unfortunately, it seems to have been separated, likely never to reunite. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
