Letter/envelope from the executed Texas Crack House Killer.
This auction is a letter from executed Texas double murderer Milton Wuzael Mathis (3/11/1979 – 6/21/2011). On 12/15/1998, Milton Mathis shot three people in a "crack house." He attempted to shoot several other individuals but his gun jammed. After the shootings he then robbed the house and set it on fire. One of the three victims survived but was left paralyzed from the chest down. Milton Mathis had an IQ score in the low 60s, including a score of 62 on a test administered by the state’s prison system. Psychology experts have routinely put the standard for mental disabilities around a 70 IQ and lower. Milton Mathis's case managed to work its way through the Texas legal system, despite the evidence of mental disability, which states his execution was not constitutional under United States law. ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is two pages on two sheets, date 7/22/2010, and signed twice, "Milton W. Mathis." The original mailing envelope is postmarked 7/26/2010. The appears the original recipient wrote the date the letter arrived on the envelope as well.
