Homemade postcard from the condemned California Koreatown Slasher.
This auction is for a postcard from the condemned California "Koreatown Slasher" Joseph Martin Danks. In 1987, Joseph Danks killed a series of six homeless men in Los Angeles. He would select his victims in Koreatown, stabbing them to death, thus earning him the moniker. He would be arrested and sentenced to 156 years to life imprison. In 1990, while serving his sentence in a California prison, Joseph Danks strangled his cellmate, killing him. This was Joseph Danks second such attack, stabbing and strangling another inmate in 1989, who survived. During his second trial, Joseph Danks stabbed his attorney and then lunged at the jury before being taken down by a bailiff. He would be convicted and sentenced to death.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The postcard is homemade, a piece of paper affixed to an advertisement sent to Danks and is unsigned. The postcard is postmarked 1/23/2006.
