Letter/envelope set from the deceased California child serial killer.
This auction is for a letter from deceased California child serial killer Fernando Eros Caro (12/3/1949 – 1/28/2017). Between 1979 to 1980, Fernando Caro committed a series of brutal sexual assaults on young children throughout California. He was convicted multiple murders in multiple counties, ultimately being sentenced to death for one case. Fernando Caro is known to have at least five victims but is suspected by law enforcement in several other cold cases. After arriving on death row, Fernando Caro became quite the painter. His paintings were so good he was asked to paint murals in both visitation rooms at San Quentin State Prison, murals that are still on the wall to this day. Fernando Caro died rather suddenly on 1/28/2017. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation ruled the death of "natural causes," but those closest to Caro knew he was suicidal and constantly contemplated taking his own life. He death seemed suspect to many. He was 67.
