Letter/envelope set from the condemned California murderer.
This auction is for a letter from condemned California murderer Richard Allen Davis. On 10/1/1993, Richard David abducted 12-year-old Polly Klass from her California home. He would be arrested, convicted, and sentenced to death in 1996. Upon receiving his death sentence Richard Davis made a statement that, just before he murdered Polly Klass, she told him her father Marc Klass was molesting her. This didn't go over well in court. There's no proof to suggest any such activity ever took place. Richard Davis, who had an extensive criminal history, would become the poster boy for what would become California's Three Strikes Law.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is three pages on three sheets, dated 11/8/2001, and is signed, "Richard." Davis has written, "I almost stated to worry, thought my execution date has been moved up, without nobody letting me know about it. I probably would be the last to know." The original mailing envelope is postmarked 11/9/2001. The letter and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
