This auction is for a letter from South Carolina maternal filicide Susan Smith. On 10/25/1994, Susan Smith drowned her two young sons buy rolling her car into a local lake with the two secured in car seats. The case made national headlines when explanation for the missing children was a carjacking by an unknown African American male. Ultimately Susan Smith would confess on 11/3/1994 and subsequently received a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 30 years.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is one page, dated 7/2/2008, and is signed, "Susan." There's an artsy "Happy Birthday!!" in the body of the letter. The original mailing envelope is postmarked 7/3/2008.
