Letter/envelope set from Henry Hill associate and Goodfella Jimmy the Gent.
This auction is for a letter from deceased organized crime boss "Jimmy the Gent" James Burke, born James Conway, (7/5/1931 – 4/13/1996). Made world famous by the movie Goodfellas, with Robert de Niro playing his role, James Burke was an American gangster convicted on conspiracy charges in 1982. He was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. He'd receive an additional 20 years to life for orchestrating a murder from prison. There were a number of alleged crimes James Burke, and his crew, were said to be responsible for, including multiple homicides. Former associate turn FBI informant Henry Hill claimed James Burke was behind at least 60 murders. James Burke died of cancer on 4/13/1996. He was 64.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is two pages on two sheets, dated 9/14/1992, and is signed, "Jimmy." The original mailing envelope is postmarked 9/15/1992. The envelope is stamped SHAWANGUNK CORRECTIONAL FACILITY in red with a star on the reverse. Jimmy the Gent items are few and far between.
