This auction is for an envelope from condemned California "Trailside Killer" David Joseph Carpenter. David Carpenter was no stranger to incarceration. After already serving two separate seven year prison terms, David Carpenter was arrest for the 1979 to 1981 Trailside Killings, where at least nine people were murdered. The crimes occurred in both Santa Cruz and Marin Counties. He would be convicted on multiple counts of murder and received multiple death sentences. David Carpenter continues to maintain his innocence.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The envelope is completely handwritten with eight lines of address, postmarked 1/29/2002, with a red San Quentin State Prison stamp.
