This auction is for a signed crime scene photo from the deceased Japanese cannibal killer and necrophile Issei Sagawa (4/26/1949 - 11/24/2022). On 6/11/1981, Issei Sagawa would murder a classmate in Paris, France, where the two were studying. After the murder, Issei Sagawa raped the body and began cutting it up, preparing various portions to eat. He would ultimately be arrested by French authorities. Issei Sagawa would be declared insane and unfit to stand trial, being admitted to a psychiatric facility indefinitely. He would be transferred back to Japan, where due to a technicality he was released. Upon his release on 8/12/1986, Issei Sagawa would become a counterculture figure, both celebrated and criticized. On 11/24/2022, he would die for natural causes. Issei Sagawa was 73.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The crime scene photo, displaying a photo of his victim, is printed on a sheet of international sized stationery, roughly 8.25"×11.5". I don't understand Japanese, so I have no idea what he wrote. I have had other Sagawa pieces translated and it's usually something to do with "eating tender flesh," morbidly romantic and grotesque.
