Very large letter from the executed Florida serial killer.
This auction is for a huge letter on newspaper from executed Florida serial killer Aileen Carol Wuornos (2/29/1956 – 10/9/2002). Aileen Wuornos was a female serial killer who killed seven men from 1989 to 1990. She claimed during several trials that the killings were in self-defense, that her victims were would-be attackers and she the victim. Unfortunately for Wuornos, none of the members of any of her juries believed that story and she was sentenced to death on multiple counts. Her case was largely celebrated in the press and continues to be the focus of media coverage. Aileen Wuornos was executed 10/9/2002. When asked if she had any last words she stated, "Yes, I would just like to say I'm sailing with the rock, and I'll be back, like Independence Day with Jesus. June 6, like the movie. Big mother ship and all, I'll be back, I'll be back." She was 46.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is on a newspaper page that reads, "Thank you," over and over and over, measuring roughly 13.5"×18", and is signed, "Aileen," with a large heart. This is one of those more unique Wuornos items that you just don't see every day and would look amazing in a frame. The letter comes inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and has been stored folded twice. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
