This auction is for a greeting card from the deceased American music producing icon Harvey Phillip Spector (12/26/1939 - 1/16/2021). Phil Spector was a musical genius, with a rich legacy far too extensive to begin to detail here. On 2/3/2003, actress Lana Clarkson was shot in the mouth at Phil Spector's mansion in Alhambra, California. He would post $1 million dollars bail while awaiting trial. The defense argued the actress shot herself, while prosecutors alleged the shooter was Spector himself. Phil Spector's first trial, in 2007, ended in a hung jury. His retail in 2008 would end in a second degree murder conviction on 5/29/2009. His bail would be revoked, and he was sentenced to 19 years to life imprisonment. Phil Spector made multiple efforts to get his conviction overturned on appeal, all of which failed. Phil Spector would die of complications related to coronavirus on 1/16/2021. He was 81.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The greeting card is romantic in nature and signed, "Phillip." The original mailing envelope has two printed signatures, one on the front and one on the reverse, and is postmarked 9/12/2019, note the John Lennon stamp.
