Letter/envelope set from the Illinois serial killer.
This auction is for a letter from Illinois serial killer Brian James Dugan. Between 1983 to 1985, Brian Dugan would rape and murder three women, two who were only seven and 10-years-old. He would rape at least four additional young women and girls and attempted to abduct at least two others in failed attempts. Brian Dugan was arrested on 6/3/1985 and would ultimately be sentenced to death. His sentence would later be commuted to life imprisonment in 2011 with Illinois abolishing their death penalty. Three innocent individuals were charged with Dugan's first 1983 brutal rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl, two of whom were convicted and sentenced to death. They pair spent years on death row before the crimes could be linked to Brian Dugan. Brian Dugan claims he was sexually assaulted himself by John Wayne Gacy in 1972. The crime did go unreported to law enforcement at the time and Brian Dugan's account was dismissed by prosecutors.
