Letter/envelope set with enclosures from the condemned California serial killer.
This auction is for a letter from condemned California serial killer Kevin Bernard Haley. Between 1983 and 1984, Kevin Haley, with his accomplice and brother Reginald Haley, went on a murderous crime spree that left potentially eight victims dead in its wake. The pair committed multiple rapes and burglaries in home invasion styled robberies. After their arrest in 1984, the pair made statements, implicating themselves in various crimes. Reginald Haley was convicted of robbery, kidnapping, rape, and sodomy. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1987. Kevin Haley received two trials, with two murderers being the most serious convictions. He was sentenced to death twice, once in 1988 and once in 2014.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is six pages on six sheets, dated 1/9/1998, and signed, "Kevin." Haley has drawn a picture of an inmate quarterly package on the last page, attempting to show the original recipient how to affix the package form, also enclosed. There are also two poems sent with the mailing, each signed, "Keven B. Haley." In the letter Haley discusses some legal proceedings in regards to his case and what he would like in his package. The original mailing envelope is postmarked, but the date is not legible, along with the old school red SAN QUENTIN STATE PRISON stamp. The letter and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
