Victoria Cox, 32, is a suspect in the murder of a mother and her kid.
She was indicted for capital murder, kidnapping, and sexual
battery.
The case centers on the murders of 35-year-old
Callie Brunett and her 4-year-old daughter, Erin Brunett. Victoria
Cox is suspected of helping Daniel Callihan in the abduction of
Callie Brunett's two daughters after allegedly murdering their mother
in Loranger. Erin Brunett, the younger daughter, was sadly found dead
in a forested region in Mississippi. Her six-year-old sister, Jalie,
was discovered alive and being kept as a "sex slave." Both
Callihan and Cox sexually assaulted her.

Victoria Cox pleaded
not guilty to the charges in a Hinds County, Mississippi, courtroom.
Cox faces a capital murder charge for the kidnapping and death of
Erin Brunett. The kidnapping charge is related to the abduction of
Cox's 6-year-old sister. The sexual battery charge is connected to
alleged sexual acts committed against the 6-year-old.
Victoria
Cox is also facing murder and kidnapping charges in Louisiana.
The
motive behind the crimes Victoria Cox is accused of, along with
Daniel Callihan, has not been explicitly stated in the media reports.
However, it appears that the crime may have stemmed from a personal
relationship, as the mother of the abducted children, Callie Brunett,
had previously dated Daniel Callihan. After their arrest, Callihan
admitted to the murder of the younger daughter but did not provide a
reason for his actions.
Victoria Cox, in her court
appearance, pointed the finger at Callihan, claiming she had no
knowledge of what happened and stated that the last time she saw the
girls, they were alive.
Evidence connects Victoria Cox to
the crime scene. The Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade mentioned that
the crime scene where Erin Brunett was found was worked on with a
"very, very microscopic approach" and that they are
awaiting test results on evidence found in that field. Additionally,
a disturbing discovery was made that linked the area to potential
human trafficking, which could be related to the case.
Victoria
Cox was reportedly apprehended at a hotel in Jackson, and she is
known to be an acquaintance of Daniel Callihan, who is suspected of
the murders. The evidence found at the crime scene indicates a
possible link to human trafficking, including the discovery of items
like small animal cages. These details indicate that there is
physical evidence that could potentially link Cox to the crimes she
is accused of.
Authorities meticulously examined the crime
scene where Erin Brunett was found and are awaiting test results on
the evidence collected. There may be forensic evidence being
processed, as the police chief mentioned a "very, very
microscopic approach" to the crime scene investigation. After
his arrest, Daniel Callihan confessed to the crimes, which could be a
crucial piece of evidence in the case. Evidence of small animal cages
at the location on Boozier Drive suggests a connection to human
trafficking, which could be related to the case. The indictments
against Cox and Callihan contain explicit information about the
abductions, murders, and the sexual assault of the Louisiana woman's
6-year-old daughter.
