WwII - World War II - No.1
This photograph depicts an artwork piece by Mr. Savitaky a holocaust survivor captured in 1941 and sent to Mathausen Camp. He was freed in 1945.
From among prisoners SS-soldiers bribed an Elite of ruffians and sadists to serve as overseers. They subjected prisoners to exceptionally severe flogging most commonly resulting in death.
The canvas provides a typical instance of earthwork where short shrift was given to ill and famished captives unable to perform me that hard toil.
This is a modern print post war.
