This auction is for a card from "Want Ad Killer" Harvey Louis Carignan (5/18/1927 - 3/6/2023), also known as Harv the Hammer, due to his choice of murder weapon, the claw hammer. In 1949, Harvey Carignan was convicted of rape and murder and sentenced to death. The murder conviction would be overturned in 1951 and Harvey Carignan would parole in 1960. He started killing again in 1972, targeting young women and girls. Havey Carignan murdered at least four additional victims. Several victims were released after being assaulted or escaped while being abducted. In 1975, he would be convicted of murder in Minnesota and be sentenced to life. Harvey Carignan died on 3/6/2023. He was 95.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The greeting card is signed, "Harvey." The original mailing envelope is postmarked 8/9/2006.
